Our question this week is: Would you rather lose all of your old memories, or never be able to make new ones?

Ground Rules: Open to AU and NZ members only. Each week, the TolunaTeamAUNZ will create a topic on the AU and NZ sites regarding a specific theme, and ask members to provide their opinion. Three winners will be selected from each Australia and New Zealand to win 3,000 points. Winners will be chosen at random from all eligible posts. I would far rather keep the old memories. Although some were not good, many are wonderful and cherished.
To lose old memories would render one with no knowledge of the essence of who they are and what makes them who they are today.
You would lose memories of who all your family and friends are and they would just be strangers telling you that they were relatives and friends and only imparting to you memories which they shared with you. These are not all your memories , they are their memories.
I would rather that friends and family and myself took many pictures of the new memories so that I would know that I had seen and done these new things.

Old memories? Delete. Forming new memories? Retain that concept. Those close to me - even if I won't know that - have known the person I was, and the person I still am. I might be oblivious to that. Forming new memories though, that's the process of life. My family and friends will see me right. Hanging on to the present, if that's all I'll have from now on, is vitally important.

If I could keep the memories of the new ones then that would be great as they would be comming in fast and furious as family grows.

Neither. I love all the memories of my daughter coming into my world and want to have many more!It would be horrible the start of dementia and brain cancer and realize you are forgetting things, then eventually have no idea.

I would rather not have to choose, but if forced to i would choose no new memories. Those that people that you lost who you will never see again can not be forgotten.
