sometimes it is hard to turn off my thinking as i seem to dwell on bad times as i am in a lot of pain most days
,but If i pick up my phone and talk for awhile to one of my friends who have bad days which are sometimes worst than mine between us we both feel better at the end of the call

My pets are generally the first thing I turn to when having a bad day. However, they often beat me to it. I have two cats, and one of them in particular is very intuitive and knows when I am not at my best. She will follow me until I sit down, then jump up and push on my chest until I sit back enough for her to climb up on my chest. She then curls up and gives a deep resonating purr that is very therapeutic. Listening to some music, or losing myself in a good book also seems to help.

Talking to my dear old cat. He's 19 and arthritic but he never complains about having a bad day so why should I? Stroking my foster dog and thinking how lucky I am to be able to be a foster "mum". Taking a warm, relaxing bath. Tasty treats like chocolate. Counting my many blessings and reminding myself that there are many others far worse off than me around the world.

It used to be drink, but since I quit for a long time now I try to do something fun with the kids outside, anything, to shunt that feeling the opposite way and a lot of the time it works.

When I am having a bad day I cook my heart out in the kitchen creating scrumptious desserts for my beautiful partner. Cooking always makes me happy and warm inside especially when I see how happy it makes him to eat my creations. He is my best critic but mostly he feels my love through my cooking and that always puts a smile on my face.
