Should gift cards and prepaid cards be limited to a certain amount of money, and the anonymity of who purchases them, be removed?
Closed

Today it was announced by the Australian Government, that these such cards are anonymous, and cards can have large sums of money applied to them, and then be send overseas to fund terrorism, it was proven that one of the terrorist attacks in France, was funded by one of these such cards. It seems to be another way of money laundering. One card had $100,000 AU attached to one, and this funded one of the France Attacks. It is time that our Government acts and puts a stop to this, and cards with over a certain amount of value, be not anonymous?

Surely these cards should be limited - people can't take more than $10,000 in cash/currency when they travel overseas, so that should also include these cards. Shouldn't be hard to limit them.

Interesting and thanks for letting me know. I did not know this at all. Yes, absolutely there should be a limit and no anonymity.

My prepaid cards that I have ever had, can only have a certain amount loaded and it has never been anywhere near $100 000. But that would stop it being reloaded several times to reach that amount. The only thing for me is that i wold have no way of funding that much. A reasonable maximum preload may be something worth looking at. However does that stop someone buying multiples to reach the amount they want/

This has been going on for a very long time. Where do you think the $27million these fraudster islamic brothers got from our government for a non-existent childcare center went? Probably on those gift cards. ;)

It is time people woke up to the fact that it has also been proven that halal certification money is very likely being laundered via islamic charities and being sent to Syria for war jihad.
I have an ICWA document saved in my PC which was removed from the internet as soon as patriots exposed it publicly.
The final sentence on that document which was the Pesidents Report for ICWA for the year 2013 alludes to laundering money via charity so that no questions could be asked. I have this document saved in my PC first hand direct from the ICWA site before they hurriedly pulled it down from the net.
Here is an excerpt from Larrys post link posted after this.....
Brash Halal certifier, The Islamic Council of WA President, Dr Rateb Jneid actually admitted, and signed off on, his 2013 annual report, that his halal certification funds went, “... to Syria and because of the difficult civil conditions, the donations were made through ‘Al Imdaad’ charity, to ensure that no recriminations could be directed at ICWA”.
When asked to explain where the money had actually finished up, Dr Rateb Jneid, angrily replied, “It is an affront to ask such a question” he said, “you don’t ask where money raised in Catholic Churches goes to.”
Further investigations have revealed that the WA Islamic Council is only one of many Islamic organisations across Australia, including many mosques, that are funnelling money via this sham international "charity" front, to terrorist groups in al-Raqqa in Syria and Mosul in Iraq.
Now, Dr Rateb Jneid (many of these Muslims leaders falsely call themselves doctors) is the same bloke claimed as the kingpin when Police cracked a major methylamphetamine trafficking syndicate after a four-month probe netted more than $8 million worth of the drug, $380,000 in cash and a number of unlicensed firearms
The Muslim community members (Ummah) are all too well aware what these charities are really used for and in fact it was they who pointed me in the right direction.
It takes a few minutes on a keyboard to scratch the surface of Islamic charities and their links to terrorism. The links and reports are everywhere.
It’s not just our taxes via welfare that are being used to support Islamic supremacists

The charity mentioned in the document has been deregistered as a charity in some overseas countries as it has been PROVEN to be funding terrorism.
