Our question this week is: Do you think we should encourage kids to participate in sports, or are there more important things in life? Were you ever made to play a sport even though you didn't enjoy it?

Ground Rules: Open to AU and NZ members only. Each week, the TolunaTeamAUNZ will create a topic on the AU and NZ sites regarding a specific theme, and ask members to provide their opinion. To develop hand/eye coordination and fine muscle skills not to mention avoiding obesity, a child has to be out playing and exercising. As participation in sport promotes movement but more importantly encourages teammanship and socialising it is pretty well vital as part of a child's growth and development. As long as playing sport doesn't become an obsession where winning is the only goal.

Very important for growth, fitness, strength, health, agility, reflexes, team/social interaction, learning rules of fair play, flexibility, fresh air, fun, stimulation and so much more. It is vital.

While there are more important things in life kids should be encouraged to participate in sports so they can learn the more important things in life such as being apart of a team, keeping healthy and having fun.

I think it's important that kids participate in sports because it keeps them active and healthy and they could more likely grow up and have depression and anxiety if they didn't participate in some sort of sport growing up

Participating in sporting activities encourages children/teenagers to be team players, work together for a common goal.Sports also help them to keep fit and keep to a healthy weight.Can also encourage problem solving in team games.
