Yes it’s an important reminder of how far we have come and pays tribute to the brave and innocent people who fought to live a free and happy life

They have achieved 'equality' on this issue but not on others. Whether you like it or not, Mardi Gras is about saying the LGBTQI community is here with bells on and that they cannot be hidden away. Mardi Gras will continue until its organising community decides it is time to cease.

Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras..... feel bad about the bi, trans and queer. Obviously they don’t have the right to get married or have their own parade. But the gays and lesbians are happy so that’s all that matters!

There are bigger issues in the world than this topic. If islam takes over, LGBT etc will not have a life to live, let alone any equality in it. Why don't we deal with the bigger issues before we tinker with the fine details of life?

We’ve only achieved marriage equality - not equality. 38% of Australians tried to block same sex couples marrying despite it being of no consequence to their lives. This illustrates that we still need to create awareness, and celebrate diversity, in this country more than ever.
