Who is the greatest living Australian woman?
Closed

Next month we will be celebrating Women’s History Month, which includes International Women's Day - and we've set out to find the greatest living woman in each country! To help us with this task, tell us who you think is the greatest living Australian woman of all time.

In the comments, post the full name of a living Australian woman who you believe has achieved greatness. We'll compile a list of the top nominees and will post a poll to determine exactly who is the greatest.

Please leave your suggestions below by 11th March 2019*. If you don’t have a suggestion but agree with someone else’s, simply hit the Like button on their comment. The poll will be posted shortly thereafter, and at the end of Women's History Month we will create a video to showcase the amazing women from all around the world!

*Genuine comments will be rewarded with 100 points each. Please only provide names of Australian women, as members in other countries will contribute their own country's greatest. It can be anyone such as a local community figure, business woman, sporting hero or a celebrity. We look forward to reading your suggestions!

Stay tuned on Toluna for a special contest in March, in honour of Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day.

Ali France My local Labour Candidate She lost her leg pushing her kid out of the way of a car and is still willing to help not only her family and friends but strangers of her community. That's a true hero. Also being a mum with a missing leg I admire her.

Ita Buttrose. Mind like a steel trap, yet always classy and ladylike. Succeeded in business back in the days when it was totally a man's world. Shows us that with age comes experience and wisdom.

Ita Buttrose, proving that with age comes not only experience, but also wisdom. She has a mind like a steel trap and doesn't buckle under pressure. She has succeeded in a man's world, and young people would just not believe how sexist the business world was when she started. She has always been classy and never lowered her standards.

TURIA PITT: her natural ability to be so uplifting and inspiring to so many other people, both Male and Female, after suffering such devastating burns, is the most amazing and heart whelming story, and I am totally in awe of her strength and courage to face everyday with content and a smile to over come the hurdles she has endured and is now living a happy life being a Mum.
