Would you help your kids cheat?
Closed

A huge university admissions scam has been uncovered in the US, and among those who have been arrested by the FBI are actresses Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin. They are accused of paying large bribes to ensure that their daughters were enrolled in their college of choice.

At the centre of the fraud scheme is a company that wealthy parents paid to help their children cheat on university entrance exams and falsify athletic records.

Would you help your kids cheat in order to get ahead? Committing fraud might be too extreme, but what about doing homework for them? What lengths would you go to for your kids?

No. What are these type of parents teaching their children? Have a lot of money and you can buy your way into anything. No thanks. Not the kind of thing I would want any children to want or believe.

If they can't earn their own way to top schools then it is pointless - the benefit of all schooling is for you to learn not have someone else do it for you or pay for you to get into the school. I used to help them work out the answers to maths on occasions but only if they were really struggling and couldn't find the way to come to the answer themselves. Tha only other 'help' I ever gave was to make them stay indoors till they finished their homework or assignment. I was a hard mum.

I woulnt do it, I would want them to get in ontheir own merit. i have assisted my kids with homework and provided ideas, their dad even did some art for one part of a drama assessment a few years back

No way. I would help them with homework if they don't understand or give them guidance but they need to do the work to learn for next time.
