People should re-think about how they shop and pay for things?

If you want to support your local franchisee businesses such as Harvey Normans, maybe it is time that you buy from the local store, rather that using click and collect, as the franchisees do not make one cent on your purchase, which is totally unfair in my book.

Usually do buy in the local store especially if I'm buying fridges and the like. Stores like JB HiFi will let you click and collect on the store nearest you so they would at lest get the money from the purchase at least I hope so.
the only time I've done click and collect lately is when I'm shopping at David Jones or Myer and they aren't anywhere near me anyway.

Not really... it's always been the same equation! Never spend more than you earn! Reply

JB When you mentioned Harvey Norman , i think you got a few backs up , i know it was a generalisation . But yes , we should buy more locally , but we don't process much . Dick Smith a few years ago had the right idea , but again he was pushed out because of pricing . The problem this country has , i said it before and i will say it again , we don't manufacture or produce anything . The days of resting on our laurels on , wool , wheat , cotton are gone . Our population for a start will not sustain major , or consume what we are pushing ! Our riches lie underground , we have an abundance of raw materials , but the world buys from china ! We have gold , iron ore , bauxite , uranium , copper , diamonds . Sure we have some company's investing in this :- bhp , rio tinto , zinc , lithium etc. And we do a fine job extracting this . But there is more underground and also some metals that we haven't heard about , that is in massive demand by the US in Tech metals and rare earth . Further studies will reveal that these metals , will be used for sustainablilty , high tech military uses and eventually take over ICE . Perhaps students should shift their studies from business and economics to geology , paleontology , meteorology , study of space particularly astrophysics , which may also gain you an entry into The Batchelor !!!! I always prefer to go into a bricks and mortar store
It's going to be a dad day when a walk down the main street is going to be only cafes a self serve pub because everything else has to be bought online
