Bindi Irwin & hubby, Chandler, revealed the gender of their baby on Instagram with a tortoise present in their photo. If you have ever had a child, how did you tell others (anyone) that you/your partner was preggers?

"Our beautiful daughter is now about the same size as a hatchling Aldabra tortoise and is as healthy as can be. We can't wait for her arrival next year." Bindi Irwin on instagram (image & quote: @bindisueirwin). Nice one Bindi!

I've never been pregnant or given birth but the number of ways people have told others about their pregnancy/baby's gender seems to be as unique as the people themselves, although Bindi Irwin's reveal is quite different to any other I've seen so far.

If you/your partner was ever pregnant, did you discover the gender of your baby? How did you tell others? How did you tell others about the pregnancy? Anyway either was shared by someone you knew or a celeb that you particularly like?

We told both our parents and also the rest of the family. I wish them well with a beautiful baby however I must say I do not particularly like Bindi and her family as they are so very commercialised.

Certainly some very unique ways to reveal this now.

Times have changed, each to their own. I wish them all the best, Steve would have been over the moon!

Call us old-fashioned, but we went to both parents' homes and told them in person, before also telling others in person! And no, genders were revealed once the babies were born.
(And my partner has never been preggers... he couldn't handle it!)

I agree with Pags .There should be some surprises in having a child and knowing its gender before its birth takes away some of the surprise.Maybe i am old fashioned

Well that was quick. Good luck to them both. I found out the gender of my children but only told immediate family but of course they went on to tell everyone they knew. No secrets in our family.

Told others of two then lost both... difficult times. I think Bindu Irwin and Co. will Instagram babies first Fart... sorry that sounds harsh but she's not a favourite of mine. I feel for her Grandfather. Still, hope it's healthy and both are Happy.
