What was your reaction when you heard the news that Melbourne will be coming out of lockdown?

After being in stage 4 lockdown since August, Melbourne has reached a milestone of recording no new cases and will come out of lockdown at 11:59pm on Tuesday night. What was your reaction when you heard this news?
This question is especially relevant to the Melbournians it directly effects, but I am also interested in how the news was received in other states, so I will look forward to reading about your reactions!

We rang our friends down there. They were crying with relief. Reply

So happy for all Victorians, I've really felt sorry for you and putting myself in your shoes... I just couldn't imagine! Enjoy getting out there and getting on with your lives! :-} Reply

My thoughts were that Victorians did a magnificent job to fix a monumental debacle caused by a corrupt Government. I'd like to thank everyone for how they've handled such a long, mentally and economically hard time. I do not Thank Daniel Andrews and will never forget him and his crisis team of 8, now 6 as one thrown under the bus and another liar cowardly resigned, for their callous, deceitful lies. The people of Victoria were treated with no respect. I hope these lies are found out and I don't have to stomach seeing this man until the next election in 2022.
Congratulations Melbourne.

I hope fellow Victorians don't go "too hard, too early" and we get covid clusters. COVID=citizens of Victoria ignoring directions. Reply

I am very proud indeed of the people who did it right in Victoria. I think, as with any length of time not being able to do anything, people will be nervous about going out but that shall pass. Well done to you all!!! Reply

Like your observations sampler the elderly couple in their 90's I know have found renewed meaning during their time in lockdown in Melbourne. They've tended their garden, one walks every morning with her friend, the library has dropped off books enough to..well fill a library, zoomed with their church, family and friends and gotten to know each other in a deeper way than they had for a long time. They've also had a good rest from community commitments. They too are trepidatious about returning to "normal". Having said all that these are obviously elderly people not reliant on wages or a business and have experienced the Spanish flu and a war which they say is why they can cope. Caution ahead is my summary. Reply

Funnily enough, my little Samplers asked me if we can still "stay in our 5km bubble" even after lockdown finishes! They have been loving the adventures we've been having exploring the parkland behind us in a way that we have never done before, and want to keep doing that. So do I to be honest, we have developed a brand new lifestyle that our whole Sampler family wants to try to keep even after we open up!
I'm a bit nervous about heading back out there, so I will be doing so very cautiously and still only when necessary for a while, but I am so proud of us as a state for beating this second wave and I am so happy that we are a much healthier place than what we have been.
Congratulations Victoria!!
