Summer Storms.

Do you get bad storms where you live? Do you prepare your house, patio, deck etc for storms? Do you have an emergency kit or things ready for storms? We have a drawer with a torch, batteries,a radio and a bottle of water. A few years ago we had a blackout that lasted 5 days. Luckily we could boil the water and cook on the Barby. On the night of day 5 we found out that our local RSL was up and running so we went there for dinner.Have you ever been through floods or a cyclone?Have you ever had your house damaged by storms? Thanks.

Bit of a shower yesterday 4 inches in about 2 hours so no preparation was required here just what used to be normal.
However what was abnormal was it did not come in from the east to hit us it came from a North Westerly direction over the Range which used to be where the dry weather came from.

We get bad storms sometimes and always take the warnings when we need too. Have an emergency and first aid kit and have been through both cyclones and floods but luckily not directly affected ourselves. Reply

Not really prone to long storms Pags. That being said we do have our torches etc in a box ready for such an occasion. 5 days is an awful long time. Reply

Never had an outage as long as you Pags but wind and storms are common here being on the coast. Torches and candles at the ready. Reply

Sometimes during a big storm... we end up with a moat around our house! And it has on occasion, rained inside the family room at the sliding doors! Reply
