This young man is an inspiration. He is 16 year old - learns how to fly, navigate and then flies solo around Australia to talk to young people about suicide.

Tragically, many young people are killing themselves - why we ask? When we get older, we know that our youth can be one of the best periods of our lives.

This young bloke is surely an inspiration to all of us, in particular young people - he's unassuming but does everything methodically - he works out how to do and then makes a plan.

This is a good news story - pleasant to watch and heartwarming to see a young man who thinks of others and especially his peer group.

I wish we could bottle his enthusiasm for life and have many other young people like him who aspire to do good for others and in turn for themselves. How proud his parents and family would be.

Comments welcome.

Seen the story last night, what a wonderful 16 year old he is, and what he said is so true. But what many people do not understand is that most youth suicide statistics are from children, who are having issues with their sexuality. Until all parents are more accepting and supportive of their children, it will still continue being high. Reply

He is an inspiration! Only by talking about it, especially coming from one of their peers, will the message have a chance! Reply

What a wonderful young man and so very lucky to have his two close friends still with him. Well done to him in trying to get the message across about suicide. Thanks for the link it was inspirational. Goes to show that rather than concentrate on the things that our young do which are negative start looking for the positives and there are many of them.
