Australia How are people coping, when Family members refuse to get the Covid 19 i jection.
Closed

We are aged pensioners, with a Daughter who has convinced/forbidden her children to have the vaccines. One has been vacinated. We have explained, or tried to that we will not be meeting face to face.
Her reply was, she would not be bullied. I am really scared for myself and my Husband who has serious health issues.

Latest up date is, our Daughter has recieved advice from a trusted friend, and she and her 4 children, who can be vaccinated are going to be vaccinated. So good news for her Father. Thankyou everyone for your input, it is very much appreciated.

The medical advice is that as long as you have been vaccinated this will protect you to a degree from serious illness or worse.

If you are vaccinated then you only have a small chance of getting the virus .You may develop cold/flu symptoms according to the Chief Health Officer in Vic Proffessor Brett Sutton but will not necesarily require hospitalisation. If your husband has serious underlying health problems then speak to your doctor before before you cut ties with your family

Sad to say only death in the family may change her views.
I assume the same person never asks what's in Codrel/ Vicks mix/ or any other medicine over the counter has in it that she buys and takes without a care of her health in long term.
Sorry if I sound to harsh,

Australians are lucky to have access to free vaccination against COVID. Those who don’t want to get vaxxed may find themselves isolated from society in the future.

I am fully vaccinated, some people may have health conditions that do not allow them to safely have a vaccine, but other people who do not, should be protecting others by having the vaccine
