Listening to the radio earlier. Talking about things that no longer exist. God Save The Queen at movies. We all had to stand up. Ice-cream or lolly sellers at the movies. They used to have a big wooden crate thingy with straps over their shoulders and were there selling their goodies before the movies and at intermission. Smoking at the movies and on planes.Rude jokes towards women. Times have certainly changed. What things can you remember? What things are you pleased that we no longer do?

I am pleased that there are indoor toilets now, I heard from the generations before me you used to have to walk down the back to use the outside one’s and it didn’t sound very pleasant. I am also pleased we have everyday things that make life easier like washing machines so no need to wash all the clothes by hand. Reply

I find myself nostalgic for the world before all this interconnectivity. I was one of the first in Adelaide to get the Internet (early 90s, late 80s) so I;ve been there and watched it grow to the monster it has become. It just feels like the world is not as friendly as it used to be either. But I also have to remember that memory is often tinted by rose-coloured glasses, and I could just be remembering the good bits because they stand out. Oh, and at my age, I'm nostalgic for the body I used to have and the sport I used to play... Reply
